In the 49-year history of C. B. Fisk, fully a third of all the instruments we have
made reside in academic settings, though few in institutions as prestigious as this one.
The opportunity we were offered here, to build an organ that we know will be used
often and well, that will contribute toward the education of future generations of
world-class organists; these are the rewards that fueled our resolve to offer the musical
community of Indiana University our very best work.
We have been planning and designing Opus 135 since 2005: building, installing,
and voicing it for the last two years. Now, we have come to the end of 30,000 hours
of work, and we pause to celebrate with you and also to extend our deepest gratitude
to the Seward family, whose generosity made the project possible.
